SILF Earth was created with a simple purpose: to help support the mission of the San Isidro Labrador Foundation through products inspired by nature, wellness, and sustainable living.
Our story began on a small family farm, where we learned that many of life's greatest blessings come from the land. We cultivated our fields, grew our own food, collected fresh water from natural springs, and relied on the environment for much of what we needed to live. Nature was not simply our surroundings—it was our provider, our classroom, and our way of life.
Growing up also taught us the importance of respecting the people, traditions, and diverse beliefs that have long protected and cared for the forests and natural resources around us. We were surrounded by plants with medicinal value, and we witnessed firsthand how generations used nature's gifts to promote health and healing. These early experiences shaped our deep appreciation for both the environment and the communities that depend on it.
Education opened new opportunities for our family. After completing my studies and becoming a Nurse Practitioner, I continued supporting my family by helping other siblings pursue their own education. As my career grew, I also became involved in global health volunteer work, using my knowledge and experience to serve communities with limited access to healthcare. These experiences strengthened my belief that lasting change begins with education, compassion, and sustainable community development.
The San Isidro Labrador Foundation was established after the passing of our parents to honor the values they lived by. My father devoted his life to farming, cultivating our ancestral land so he could provide opportunities for all eleven of his children to receive an education. His hard work, perseverance, and respect for the land remain the foundation of everything we do today.
My mother, Isidra, was born on the feast day of San Isidro Labrador, the patron saint of farmers, whose celebration remains an important tradition in our hometown. Her name and our family's agricultural heritage inspired the foundation's name, serving as a lasting reminder of the values of faith, hard work, stewardship, and service.
Today, the foundation is led by four siblings whose backgrounds reflect our shared commitment to building stronger communities. Together, we bring experience in healthcare, chemical engineering, and organic agriculture—combining our different skills with one common purpose: to promote sustainable living, environmental stewardship, education, and healthier communities.
SILF Earth & Wellness was created as the social enterprise that helps bring this mission to life. Every thoughtfully selected product reflects our belief that caring for ourselves and caring for the planet go hand in hand. Proceeds from SILF Earth help support the programs and initiatives of the San Isidro Labrador Foundation, allowing every purchase to become part of a larger purpose.
